  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Aug 21, 2026, sent to the company Aug 26, 2026, published by CPSC Sep 11, 2026

The product, in the report: Sweetcrispy 7 Drawer Fabric Dresser for Bedroom Storage with Bins, Black. Indoor bedroom storage dresser with seven fabric drawers and a metal frame. Model and SKU CAB-7BC-V2-BK. UPC 720314559208. PO number VYJJ-7789. Made in Vietnam. Approximate carton dimensions are 42.32 x 12.8 x 4.33 inches. Purchased from Amazon. Amazon ASIN B0FJLT8YMZ.

I purchased a Sweetcrispy 7 Drawer Fabric Dresser for Bedroom Storage with Bins, Black, from Amazon for normal household use in a bedroom. Product identifiers include ASIN B0FJLT8YMZ, UPC 720314559208, and model CAB-7BC-V2-BK.

After assembling the dresser, I noticed an unusually strong chemical and glue-like odor coming primarily from the fabric drawers and dresser materials. I initially expected the odor to dissipate, but after approximately three days it remained very strong and appeared to worsen.

The odor spread throughout the room and began to affect nearby furniture and other items. While spending time in the room, I experienced respiratory and throat irritation, including a burning and uncomfortable sensation while breathing, as well as dizziness after prolonged exposure. Because of these symptoms, I stopped using the dresser and avoided remaining in the room with it.

The dresser was assembled according to the instructions and used only for normal indoor bedroom storage. It was not damaged, modified, exposed to water, heat, chemicals, or other unusual conditions.

After the incident, I found multiple recent verified purchase reviews on the same Amazon listing reporting similar persistent strong odors. One reviewer also reported a chemical or glue-like smell together with dizziness. This raised concern that the issue may not be limited to a single unit.

I reported the issue to Amazon as a product safety concern. Amazon confirmed in writing that a case report had been filed and stated that the issue would be investigated. I have retained the product in case it is needed for further investigation.

I do not know what specific chemical or material is causing the odor and have not independently tested the product. I am reporting the incident because the persistent chemical and glue-like odor, respiratory irritation, and dizziness during normal indoor use raise a potential consumer product safety concern.
