The product, in the report: Kelly Clarkson Home DESK (Bransford Executive desk) purchased from Wayfair
I purchased a Kelly Clarkson desk from Wayfair which was delivered last week (July 31,2020). We had the trucking company bring the desk into the home office room. We noticed a pungent odor so I decided on Aug.1, 2020 to unpack the desk and remove ALL the packing material from the house. We still have the pungent odor to the desk. We had other people come in and see if they could smell it. One woman had to get out of the room because it was giving her a headache. We purchased the desk for &1,200.00 and thought, regardless of the product coming from China that it would be a good product since it had Kelly Clarkson’s name on it. I researched wood products containing formaldehyde on line, prior to the purchase, and discovered the EPA had a law passed to protect people from harmful affects of the amount of formaldehyde that can be used both domestic and foreign. I am looking for a lab qualified and approved by you or the EPA to test the odor being released. When I talked to your [REDACTED] on the phone she could not give me a lab’s name. I don’t think your agency will respond quick enough so, I am willing to hire a lab. I would rather use a lab that you send me to so I can make sure I am getting the correct test done. I will research the labs in the Erie, Pa. area. cc:Senator [REDACTED] / [REDACTED] Congressman: [REDACTED]
