  1. No one hurt

Made Jul 25, 2014, sent to the company Sep 11, 2014, published by CPSC Aug 21, 2014

The product, in the report: Braxton Trestle Desk, L is 129 cm, W is 62 cm, and H is 23 cm,

I ordered a desk from Target.com on 6/28/14 and I have had ongoing product issues and concerns since 7/4/14, upon receiving and starting assembly. After assembling all 3 legs- I was not able to attach them as the built in tee nuts were loose and came out of the main top piece- so that means I could not attach the legs, securely. I informed Target.com and asked for some new pieces/parts, and they refused. I went to Home Depot and purchased some nuts, to help with the fastening of the legs, assuming that was a good alternative solution. Upon finishing the instructions, the last page had a section of care and warning instructions, however, it must have been stamped on, because it was very blurry and the ink had bled. None of it is legible and there are 9 different warnings that I cannot read. I informed Target.com on 7/7/14 and they told me I need to buy another desk if I want new instructions. I asked for the vendor phone number and it was for a different vendor that does not even make desks. I went back to Target.com and they refused to help in any other way. Their customer service is in India and they really don’t understand the situation or the potential risks. For the last 2 weeks, I have been trying to escalate this so someone from the US can help, but that has not happened. During this, Target.com has pulled the product from their website, and they continue to tell me that they can’t contact the vendor to get the care instructions clarified. I am extremely concerned about the safety of this product and the warnings that I am not able to read. Target.com has been less than cooperative and appears to not understand the situation and potential risks. I thought it was a legal requirement that international products required labeling and care instructions. From the box, I do know it was made in Vietnam and there is a purchase order and item number. I feel like Target.com is hiding something, since they won’t share the vendor information with me, ontop of pulling the product- this concerns me and whoever else may have purchased this desk in the past. Please let me know if you can help me.
