I’ve had this product for several months now and it still completely reeks of formaldehyde. I don’t care what standard it complies to, this product is [expletive].

I’m sending a letter to the USA Consumer Product Safety Commission citing extreme vapors, headaches, nausea, and concern for brain damage to my newborn. I will also be mentioning that I requested MSDS sheets for the materials used to make this item and that you refused.

Per your inquiry, the particle board that is used on our products comply with California standards for Formaldehyde Phase 2. The smell you are referring to may be coming from the freshly painted product. It should dissipate and opening the windows will greatly help. Please keep the entire thread, if responding. Hello Storkcraft,

My wife and I recently purchased your Aspen Combo Dresser online.

We are very disappointed that we purchased this dresser because of the amount of particle board it is made from, which is effusing unacceptable amounts of foul smelling vapors, most likely formaldehyde. I’m not especially stoked for my newborn baby to be breathing these fumes. Would you be? That said, we don’t have time right now to disassemble it, repack it, ship it back, and shop for an alternative. Major bummer and waste of money. ?

Could you please supply me information about the contents of the particle board, in particular the details about the resins used?

I suggest you change your product description on the website to read “composite particle board construction with real wood accents”, or something closer to the truth than how you describe it now, and provide customers with the MSDS sheets for the chemicals used in the resins of this inferior furniture material.

    Regards,

    [REDACTED] [REDACTED]
