  1. Emergency room

Made Mar 7, 2016, sent to the company Apr 6, 2016, published by CPSC Apr 27, 2016

The product, in the report: Sound Booth

April 2015,we ordered and installed a sound booth form www.whisperroom.com. Since the sound booth was moved in, I had usually been dizzy and uncomfortable. I thought maybe the office air wasn’t fresh, so I didn’t go to office often. August 2015, I moved the sound booth to my condo, because “the bad air” I couldn’t stay at the office any more. Things happened. I estimate the sound booth consists of the high density compression plate, when they stayed at the cold air conditioning office, the smell just released slowly, we could not smell the strong odor at that time. However it was almost 70-80 degree natural temperature in my home sometimes, strong chemical volatiles come out quickly form the sound booth, I was constantly coughing, respiratory dry mucous membranes, chest tightness, headache, I was hardly breathe in the whole living room and dining room. I had to move my computer to the bedroom to work, and blocked the door gap with clothes, I bought a lot of plants and activated charcoal to remove the odor. At the time, I realized the reason why the office air was uncomfortable. I have lived in the United States since 2014, my English isn’t strong, communication with seller is a big challenge for me, I had no idea how to complaint. I tried to contact with the seller, but they did not reply to my email in a week. I cried at outside, my upstairs neighbor came to my house, she shocked the strong smell and helped me to call the seller three times, the seller dispatched a person to check. But, we got an important message from the employees of the company: They had received several customers complained about the smell. The worker did not carry any equipment to detect the smell. He believed that a rodent or some other foreign object may have gotten into one of the two vents, replaced one of them, and left an ozone machine to eliminate odors. I bought two high-powered box-fans and kept running day and night. After one week, the odor still constantly came out, of couse I couldn’t do any work in the sound booth. No way, I had to temporarily use plastic wrap to seal the entire recording studio, so I could close my window and my door during the cold winter . Since last April to now, the equipment which was cost $10,000 still does not work, also I wasted $17,000 to rent the office, more worrying is, 2/7/2016, I was sent to emergency room due to dizziness, chest tightness, hardly breath. Would you please help me to check this item?

Since last August, I had to seal the recording studio for a long time, but I couldn’t seal the bottom. Sometimes I do feel dizzy and chest tightness in my home. After covering almost half year, I thought the smell from the sound booth should be gone. 2/7/2016, I tried to open the plastic wrap, then I smelled the odor again. In the night I was sent to emergency room.

2/7/2016, I felt dizzy, difficult breathing, exhausted couldn’t stand, my friend called 911,I was sent to Pomerado Hospital,15615 Pomerado Rd, Poway, CA 92064. Doctors did blood testing and chest X-ray for me, however they didn’t find any serious injury,I just laid down without any treatment/medication, after one hour I felt better then Left the hospital.
