The product, in the report: MicQutr Kids Karaoke Microphone Wireless Bluetooth Karaoke Microphone for Kids, marketed for children ages 3 to 12. The microphone has a speaker and lights and is designed as a children’s karaoke toy microphone. During normal use, the microphone caused a sharp plastic edge of the microphone to cut my 4 year-old son’s finger, resulting in a laceration.
My 4-year-old son was injured by a microphone I bought from Amazon.com during normal use. The product is marketed for children ages 3 to 12 and the listing specifically describes it as a kid-safe microphone with no sharp edges. The microphone caused a laceration to my son’s finger. He was playing with the mic and then I heard him scream horribly. I went to see what happened and his pinky finger was bloody and cut open. After I sanitized and bandaged my son’s finger, I asked him what cut his finger. He said the mic. I gently ran my finger over the entire mic and the bottom of the shaft nearly cut my own finger. The bottom of the mic shaft is very sharp and I can’t believe this is even being sold to children.
