The product, in the report: Homedics model SS-2000A sound spa (white noise machine)
After a year and 8 days, the sound unit started MELTING DOWN under the volume control knob. Fortunate it didn’t start a fire, but did fill the room with acrid fumes. Also, the charging module was nearly too hot to unplug from the wall! This was the second unit of the same model to fail; the other one lasted almost 2 years before the volume knob quit working.

The product, in the report: http://www.homedics.com/top-selling/soundspar.html
We have a Homedics sound machine (http://www.homedics.com/top-selling/soundspar.html) that we have in our toddler’s room. We play it at night.
Last night, the plug seemed warm to the touch. Turns out, the AC adapter completely broke off at the junction with the plug. It could have easily stqarted a fire.
