The product, in the report: LectroFan sound machine (white color)
We purchased two of the white LectroFan sound machines via Amazon.com, one in June 2016 and one in December 2016.
One of them was kept on a nightstand next to our bed and plugged into an outlet in the wall just in front of the bed. Between our mattress and the wall outlet, there was just enough room to fit the plug in the outlet, with the mattress touching the outer casing of the plug.
By or before December 2016, we found that the plastic casing on the power adapter / plug had cracked, exposing the inner metal prongs.
On 3/24/17, we received an e-mail from Amazon.com with a link to the following recall:
https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2017/Power-Adapters-Sold-with-LectroFan-Sound-Machines-Recalled-by-ASTI-Recall-Alert
However, when we enter the serial numbers of our two LectroFan sound machines into the Adaptive Sound Technologies, Inc. (ASTI) website, it says the following: “No Recall Required -- Good news! Your product’s serial number is not in the range affected by the recall.”
