Hurt, care not known Made Nov 29, 2023, sent to the company Dec 4, 2023, published by CPSC Dec 26, 2023
The product, in the report: Toshiba FireTV with built-in FireTV streaming device.
I have an Amazon FireTV connected with surround audio speakers. When the FireTV application opens, the TV commercials are at volume that is probably way more than 2x that of the show content. When I’ve previously watched programs at high volume, the Prime TV commercials that come on, when I turn the TV on, hurt my ears and probably blast at levels well over safe levels. I believe this started within the last month. There are other complaints being made to Amazon Fire TV Forum. [REDACTED]. Here’s what one person said on the Forum: [REDACTED] This issue has gotten extremely bad on Amazon Prime streaming service. I measured the volume with a digital recorder and the commercials or ads were more than double the volume of the actual movie content. The device used for measuring the sound levels actually provided a warning that the sound levels could be dangerous for humans and pets.

No one hurt Made Mar 6, 2023, sent to the company Mar 9, 2023, published by CPSC Mar 23, 2023
The product, in the report: Toshiba 55 in tv
Toshiba tv arched and caused fire in upstairs residential office. Tv menu was onMy son walked up stairs. Instantly came running screaming fire. I then heard all the smoke detectors and ran immediately to the upstairs which you could see the tv putting some sort of spark or arcing and less than 6 ft approximately there’s a fire on the floor in the hard wood. It was beyond anything I’d ever seen. I immediately focused on getting fire out luckily no one was hurt. The tv has a hole size service burn. I plugged it it to make sure i wasn’t crazy and sure enough big ok circle but the tv works. What gives? This is extremely dangerous. I’m now starting to wonder what happens if this was in the middle of the night and or I’m not home. I have 2 dogs and I’m just in awww.
