The product, in the report: Sylvania 37” Digital/Analog LCD TV, Limited Edition Dual HDMI Inputs, PC Input, Enchanced Sound 10W x 2
I purchased the Sylvania 37” Digital/Analog LCD TV - LC370SS8 on April 17, 2008. We had no problems with it until about May 2010. The TV was wall mounted in our master bedroom. When I tried to turn it on, it appeared to come on then shortly shut off by itself. We checked the cable connections and it appeared fine. Turning on the TV again, it did the same thing. The TV acted as if it was coming on, then quickly shut off. Checking the plug, it gave a small shock with a popping sound when unplugging from the power strip. I thought it might have been the power strip I was using so I replaced it with a different one. The new power strip was off. Flipping it on, the plug sparked. I unplugged the TV and received another small shock with a popping sound. I flipped off the power strip. My husband came home and tried another power strip, we plugged in the set not realizing the strip was on and the plug sparked, startling my husband by the popping, but he said he did not feel a shock. My husband immediately turned off the power strip and there it has hung on the wall until today.
