No one hurt Made Jan 27, 2024, sent to the company Feb 1, 2024, published by CPSC Feb 15, 2024
The product, in the report: Roku ultra lt 4k it is black 6x4x2
We were watching TV and our Roku ultra 4k device displayed an overheating warning. We had never seen this before so naturally I picked the device up and it was burning hot. The location it was sitting had developed a brownish tint as of it were starting to burn. I contacted Roku and explained the issue and was told contact us if it happens a second time. I stated this is the second time it has happened and would like a replacement. They informed me they could offer a discount if I purchased a new device and stated my warranty is expired which is not true. I explained a simple [REDACTED] search shows this to be a wide spread issue and they refuse to acknowledge it. I set a thermostat on top of the device and it registered 101.3 after unplugging it. The other thermostat sitting next to it showed air temperature around the device was 71.4.

No one hurt Made Feb 10, 2022, sent to the company Feb 14, 2022, published by CPSC Mar 1, 2022
The product, in the report: Roku Premier HD. 4K, HDR
Turned TV on this past Saturday 2/5/2022 and found a message on screen to contact Roku support/temp. It was not user friendly to write up the concern via their website. The TV screen locked. We reset the device, turned off the device. Still the message of overheating. We packed the device on ice packs to cool it down but the device continues to run hot. We unplugged, repackaged the device and took it to the store We purchased only 5 months ago. But they would not take it back We would have to contact Roku. They gave me a phone number but it was not for consumers to call.
[REPORT UPDATE:] This remote is a SAFETY HAZARD. Not sure why this remote is acting this way but the severe safety issue needs to be addressed. I am not risking my life or my family’s life with a remote that gets too hot to hold.

Seen by a doctor or nurse Made Sep 19, 2018, sent to the company Sep 28, 2018, published by CPSC Oct 22, 2018
The product, in the report: Device that lets you stream video to a TV
I purchased a Roku a few months ago, so I could stream DirecTV Now. However, this device turned out to be a nightmare for me. Being that DirecTV Now has 60 channels, and know way to go directly to a channel, I was clicking the up and down arrows over and over again to get to the desired channel.
As I result, after a few weeks of using your product I now have raging tendinitis in both my thumbs. I cannot grip anything, any activity using my thumbs I have had to cease. Even working at the computer is extremely difficult. Those stiff buttons are not meant for rapid consistent use, which is required if one need to press the button 30 or even 60 times in a row to get to the desired channel.
The pain I have had to endure over the last month because of your product is horrible. I have seen my doctor, icing, taking anti inflammatory medication and now I have to start physical therapy because of this Roku device when using with a cable streaming service.
