No one hurt Made Apr 4, 2013, sent to the company Apr 12, 2013, published by CPSC Apr 26, 2013
The product, in the report: Model# TB100MW9
Mild electical shock from Magnavox digital converter box. Model# TB100MW9 s/n’s U21828984,U14828268,U27831703.
These three converter boxes show 32-42 Vac between the threaded part of the rf connector and earth ground. When the coax is disconnected and held in the hand it provides a good grounding of the hand and when touching the rf connector with the grounded hand a shock was felt. I have been working around electronics for about 30 years. This was a mild shock for me but I thought it worthwhile to mention to Magnavox and you. I called Magnavox just to report the information and did not pressure for replacement boxes. The person I was talking to seemed indifferent.
