The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: JVC 42 inch flat panel television, model # EM42FTR

I purchase a JVC 42 inch flat panel television, model # EM42FTR, serial # TA1DEH04001730. There is a recall notice for the neck cracking. My TV the neck cracked, TV fell on my son as he was trying to move it. I called the number for the recall and was informed that it is out of warranty. I do not understand how a defective product, that they have admitted is defective, can be out of warranty. The first person I spoke with when I told her I did not understand and could I speak to a manager hung up on me. The next person, basically told me, nothing he could do and gave me the number to parts for JVC. So I ordered a new neck which is costing me $34.24 with tax and shipping. I feel that since they know their product is defective and the recall did not have an expiration date and should not have an expiration date, that they should have shipped me the part at no cost.
