The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Aug 18, 2026, sent to the company Aug 20, 2026, published by CPSC Sep 4, 2026

The product, in the report: It worked fine up until a few days ago half the screen was gray and bouncing then the bottom half that was gray looked perfect and the gray and bouncing moved higher up and then the entire screen went gray it also physically burnt my hand when I touched the side of the tv

I bought a Hisense 40 inch TV from Walmart online on June 5th of this year a couple days ago it the picture went out and it started bouncing looked gray and had mines the TV sometimes after the initial time that it messed up it started looking perfect along the bottom where it was lines and gray before and then it moved higher up the TV or when I went to take a picture of her for Hisense I touched the side of it and it burnt my hand like it physically burnt my hand so I called them and I started the warranty claimant at first they denied me and said that it was physically damaged even though there’s no physical damage to the screen whatsoever the screen looks perfect except for when you’re trying to view something on it so when it burnt me I let them know like hey this TV bought me as a fire hazard and I want it replaced well they are making me send it back to have it repaired and that makes me very nervous because what if it happens again or it’s in the living room and it blows up you know something it’s not a safe TV it doesn’t need to be repaired and sent back like it needs to be done away with it is a fire hazard again it burnt my hand just by touching it

Made Apr 16, 2026, sent to the company Apr 20, 2026, published by CPSC May 4, 2026

The product, in the report: 65 inch television

The bottom corner of the TV began as a bright spot and progressed to extreme overheating. The area became hot enough to burn my skin and the plastic appears to be melting. This occurs within minutes of turning the TV on. I unplugged the device due to concern about fire risk.

Made Mar 5, 2024, sent to the company Mar 14, 2024, published by CPSC Mar 28, 2024

The product, in the report: Hisense 58” Television

Hisense Television Model 58R6E3. The television began emitting white smoke from the area of the power supply (internal). I removed the power supply/main board combo unit’s rear protective plastic cover, then the board combo itself, to examine it for points of failure. I found brown char marks on a local component (plastic housing) and blackening wire along with two adjacent failed (bulging) capacitors. Quick internet and [REDACTED] searching reveals that these two capacitors fail frequently (after only a couple years of use; 10,000 hours, in my case). However, I have not found another report of smoke or fire consequent of these capacitors’ failure; other users complain that their televisions simply won’t turn on. Mine worked properly while smoking, and only stopped smoking when the television was disconnected from mains power. No injuries or property damage; however, had I been sleeping or not within the vicinity of the television to see the smoke when it began smoking, the television could have caught fire and burned the house down (potentially causing my death).

UPDATED ON 3/6/2024: [I have found another incident comparable to mine; note that the model is not identical, implying that more than one model number of Hisense television is affected and must be recalled immediately. Please also note that I called Hisense only for my statements to be spoken-over with “out of warranty” nonsense. Hisense makes dangerous products and the evidently do not care to take appropriate actions to rectify them.]

The product, in the report: Hisense 50H7GB1 LED LCD TV

Hisense 50H7GB1 TV: When I was watching TV I noticed a small black dot about the size of a quarter at the bottom right of the screen. I went to look closer at it and smelled burning plastic where the TV trim had started to melt. The area near the dot and melted trim was hot to the touch. I unplugged TV and did not plug it back in. I fear if I was not home it could have started a fire.

The product, in the report: 32” Smart Television

This caller purchased a 32” television for her brother on May 23rd, 2023. Caller reports that the stands sold with the television never seem to set correctly to her. There seemed to be no problem however, until June 16th, 2023, her brother was in the living room when the stands flipped over and broke. The television fell with the stand causing issues with viewing.

    • Caller contacted the manufacturer on 06/16/2023. • Caller spoke with several representatives none of whom accept any responsibility for company.

The caller is asking for help from CPSC with encouraging the manufacturer to honor her warranty due to potential injury that could have occurred if the television had hit her brother when it fell.

The product, in the report: Hisense H7B Series 4K Ultra High-Definition Smart TV 3 years ago (50K3201GUWUS(2)G1540A2 S/N: 50G1540A2H04908). This evening we noticed a spot on the lower right hand corner of the screen, then vertical & horizontal lines and discolored and flickering. On closer examination, the screen was very hot and to the point that it has melted the frame (please see attached photo). We have turned off the TV and afraid to use it, as it creates a fire hazard.

Our Hisense television is melting in the lower left hand corner. We noticed a black spot and upon investigation discovered the melting which is a fire hazard. We were simply watching the television at the time. We also have a picture of the damage.

The product, in the report: hisense H8c 4k Ultra High Definition Smart TV

This was at evening time I was watching my television the Celtics Game when my son came in the room and I thought I paused the television with the remote but the tv went off. I thought it may have been a problem with my remote so I tried switching remotes to no avail. I then proceeded with unplugging the power supply from the back of the tv in an effort to reset the tv. First time nothing happened with the tv coming back on so I tried again. The second time I tried this clicking noise came on from the back of the tv and then this flame came out the back where the circuit board is and burnt my arm and also the cord to my Xbox one which was plugged near it.
