The product, in the report: Sony 50” Grand WEGA™ Rear Projection TV Model # KF-50WE610 DIMENSIONS (WHD): 54 1/4” x 36 1/2” x 17 3/4 “ WEIGHT: 87 lbs 1 oz POWER REQUIREMENTS: 120V AC POWER CONSUMPTION: 210w <1w(stby) SPARE LAMP: XL-2100U
I own a Sony 50” Grand WEGA™ Rear Projection TV, Model # KF-50WE610, and I had to replace the lamp. Upon opening the access cover to the projector and lamp I noticed that the door was melted and the inside where the lamp sits was also melted on both sides. Now that I have proceeded to replace the lamp I have been smelling a strong odor of burning plastic for quite some time now. I feel that this may be a safety concern or fire hazard.
