The product, in the report: 3LCD television
Our Sony KDF-42WE655 3LCD television was very close to catching fire had I not noticed smoke emitting from front of unit. Thankfully we did not fall asleep while watching tv or had not been home. This is a very serious incident that could have had catastropic consequences, resulting in the loss of our home or death. The overheating of projection lamp caused lamp cover to start melting, also internal damage to plastic components and melting wireing. I know from extensive internet research this is not an isolated incident. My question is what is takeing so long for you to issue a recall of this obviously defective and potentially deadly product. Maybe the odds of someone loseing their life is remote however even one life lost to this defect would be one to many. The incident date requested below wil be a guess at best due to the time frame involved with our discovery of the problem.
