Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Home Shredder

The consumer indicates that she had been using her home shredder the day of the incident on and off in the morning. The consumer went to use the unit again and so she plugged it in. When the consumer went to feed the shredder, it blew up on her. The consumer sustained injuries to her right arm, her face, and her head; her lashes, nasal hairs, and eyebrows were singed.

The consumer went to the Emergency Room and was treated for all her burn injuries; she was also prescribed ointment and pain pills.

The consumer states that she used the unit once or twice per year.

The consumer plans on keeping her home shredder for at least the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.
