The product, in the report: Xfinity sold the pods in a 6-pack. They are white hexagon shaped approximately 2 1/2 in. x 2 1/2 in. Their purpose is to create a mesh system and assist wifi extension to avoid dead spots. Serial numbers for all 6 pods are as follows: 3S7290E081; 3S7290D294; 3S7290E0C3; 3S7290E14B; 3S7290D31B; and 3S7290DDC8. Model No. XE1-S. Additional Information on product: FCC ID : 2AG7G-A1A; Model number A1A; and Made in China.
We purchased 6 Xfinity pods to extend wifi throughout my home approximately 4 years ago. The pods plug into an electrical outlet throughout our home. The pods heat up to the point that they are extremely hot to the touch. One even scorched the plastic outlet cover leaving a mark with an outline of the pod on the outlet and cracking the plastic. This is an extreme fire risk and anyone who is still using the pods should be notified to stop using them. Date of manufacture is not listed on the product, so that is estimated below.
