First aid Made Dec 18, 2025, sent to the company Dec 23, 2025, published by CPSC Jan 12, 2026
The product, in the report: The product is the RayNeo Air 3s Pro Smart Glasses, a wearable augmented reality (AR) device designed for entertainment and productivity. It resembles a pair of lightweight eyeglasses with integrated display technology. Key features: Frame and Nose Bridge: The glasses have a rigid frame with soft nose pads for comfort. However, at the center of the nose bridge, there is a small, protruding metal component with a sharp edge that is exposed and not rounded or cushioned. Purpose: Intended for viewing content, gaming, and AR experiences while worn on the face. Materials: Combination of plastic and metal components, with electronic parts embedded in the frame. Design Concern: The sharp-edged metal piece is located in a high-contact area (nose bridge), creating a foreseeable risk of facial injury during normal use.
On November 3, 2025, while seated on a bus during a prepaid vacation, another passenger moved past me. In a natural attempt to steady or protect my RayNeo Air 3s Pro smart glasses, I placed my hand in front of the device (as shown in the attached photo). At that moment, the bridge of my nose came into contact with a small, protruding component at the center of the glasses nose bridge. Despite the presence of soft pads, this sharp-edged piece (circled in the close-up photo) pressed into my skin and caused a deep, bleeding cut. The wound bled for approximately 30 minutes, and I had to administer first aid without immediate medical care. I documented the injury with photos and videos over a 16-day period, showing swelling, discoloration, and a raised scar that appears permanent. The injury caused pain, discomfort, and cosmetic impact, affecting my confidence and ability to enjoy my prepaid trip. The product was being used as intendedworn on the face for entertainment purposes. The design flaw (sharp metal edge in a high-contact area) presents a foreseeable hazard and risk of facial injury to any user.
