The product, in the report: Compaq Presario CG60 (laptop)
I read about Compaq laptops being recalled because they became so hot they burned the consumer. This exact thing has been happening with my laptop for over a year, so I checked the list, but mine wasn’t among those listed. I have a Compaq Presario CG60, which I bought in May or June 2009 at Best Buy in Petersburg, Virginia. My laptop gets so hot that I am unable to use it on my lap, and if I leave it on the couch for more than a few minutes, you can smell a burning smell. I have to leave it on a hard surface at all times. Sometimes, it still gets so hot that it cuts off, so I wait until it cools off to turn it on again. I recently bought an external hard drive to back up my information, because I was afraid it eventually will stop turning back on.
