No one hurt Made Jun 3, 2026, sent to the company Jun 8, 2026, published by CPSC Jul 1, 2026
The product, in the report: white 25 ft Onn cellphone charging cable type C
In April of 2026 our neighbor purchased my mother a 25ft Onn cellphone charging cord. Today 6/3/2026 she noticed a burn hole in the carpet and discovered the end of the cord that plugs into her phone had caught fire and burned the carpet. I made several phone calls to Walmart to let them know of the issue and to try to resolve it however they have been unresponsive and unhelpful. I explained I just wanted them to replace the cord with a different brand of the same price and to look into why this happened. I am concerned this may not be an isolated incident and the next time it might not have a good ending for someone else.

ONN 2-in-1 Laptop battery swell up like a bubble and the laptop casing cracked open. Fortunately my daughter was able to unplug the charger from the laptop before it could explode.
