Seen by a doctor or nurse Made Apr 28, 2025, sent to the company May 1, 2025, published by CPSC May 15, 2025
The product, in the report: Meta Quest 2
I got a extreme face rash from a quest 2 face foam. This is a very common issue and had it not been for my doctor knowing about it I would not have known what it was from. A small web search also shows that it is an extensive problem that has affected 1000’s. It appears there was a recall but I was not alerted to it even though I have 2 quest 2 purchased in my account. I’ve reached out to Meta only to be refered to a automated email and refering me to a product that I have to buy to replace the insert. This is not acceptable, I have a severe visable rash that might lead to scaring and will take weeks and possibly months of treatment. I find both Meta and Amazon respsponsible since I never received notice from either though both of them knew I purchased the product.

Seen by a doctor or nurse Made Sep 3, 2024, sent to the company Sep 6, 2024, published by CPSC Sep 20, 2024
The product, in the report: Meta Quest 2 VR device headset
I have a Meta Quest 2 VR device. My son experienced an allergic response to the facial interface. I see online that Meta has undertaken a voluntary recall due to this exact problem; HOWEVER, I am not able to get through to them to receive the silicone cover that they have allegedly issued in response. I have tried the request link they provide -- it reaches a dead end. I have tried chatting with their customer service -- my chat was abruptly ended. I am not able to purchase the cover on their web site. This is not acceptable. I hope CPSC can assist.

The product, in the report: White meta quest 2 headset
My sons meta quest 2 charging port melted and nearly caught on fire. It scared him to death! Thank god he was in his room when it happened and was able to react quickly and call for help! Otherwise we might of lost our home or even worse any one or all of us in it.
