The product, in the report: 6.6FT 2-Pcs SUPERVOOC USB-C to USB-C Cable for OnePlus 10T 5G 9 Pro 8T, Type C Warp Charge Dash Charger Cable 80W 65W Super PD Fast Charging Cord for [REDACTED] (from Amazon listing)
I bought a super charger with charging cable from Amazon (seller [REDACTED]). One night as I was charging, I noticed the cable turned a bright neon orange color that seemed suspicious. I unplugged it and then realized it had caught fire internally because of the burning and the covering of the cable had begun to melt. Thinking this was a fluke and maybe I had twisted or bent the cables internally, I purchased a new one from the same company. Unfortunately, just a few weeks ago, a similar incident occurred which ended up also destroying my phone by overheating the battery. I posted a review on Amazon about this. The seller contacted me directly about the review and offered a refund, even though I didn’t request one. I stated that I didn’t think a refund was appropriate at this time as I was weighing my options. They gave me one anyway, which is making me ask why and also prompted me to file this report.
