The product, in the report: iDeaUSA’s iDeaPLAY - Children’s 7 inch Tablet w/ Android 4.2 Jelly Bean & Protective Silicone Case in orange from iDeaUSA
My children’s IdeaPlay tablet was put away in a dresser drawer in my bedroom for about 3 weeks. When I got it out, the hard outer shell/case had burst apart due to the battery (silver, foil-packet-thing) inside of the tablet expanding and hardening. As I mentioned, it was located in a dresser drawer in my bedroom; it was never exposed to water, freezing temperatures, or extreme heat.
As I looked into how to dispose of a tablet battery I was very alarmed that every website said not to discard the battery in the trash or elsewhere because it can severely injure the health of sanitation workers who may come into contact with the battery, as well as the environment. Additionally, if the battery had accidentally been punctured it could result in fires and my kids could have been exposed to toxic lithium fumes!
