The product, in the report: The product is the Hyperkin RetroN 2. Specifcally I had the version that is black / red in color.
I ordered a third party video game system called the Hyperkin RetroN 2. I ordered the system from eBay, and when I opened the box, the smell was so bad that it made me dizzy, gave me a headache, and it made me so nauseous that I almost threw up. I’m also experiencing brain fog and more nausea now as I try to neutralize the lingering smell on the carpet. I’m using a [REDACTED] product called [REDACTED], and I also have some activated charcoal on the way, which I will deploy. I’m also thinking about cutting out that section of the carpet. After some quick research I found other people posting online about how awful this product smells, and I threw everything away about 30 minutes after I opened the box. The unopened box was sitting in my bedroom for about 6 hours before I opened it. After more research, I think it’s accurate to categorize the smell as VOC (volatile organic compounds). The plastic they used to make this product is really toxic and I don’t know how this company is still in business. They have produced at least 5 versions of this game system over the years. Hyperkin is the name of the company that sells this game system. The listed address for their business is; 1939 W Mission Blvd., Pomona, CA 91766 Their website is hyperkin.com
