The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Fitbit Flex band

I received the Fitbit flex band as a Christmas present. I started wearing the band almost immediately and did not have issues with it until about 2 months after wearing it. I developed a rash on my right wrist where the skin was red, inflamed, extremely dry and itchy. The rash did not go away for about 3 weeks after I was able to get steroid cream and use it on the rash. The rash then went away about 2 days later. I attempted to wear the band on my left wrist and made sure to wear the band looser, did not wear it in the shower and made sure to clean it with a light detergent once a day to see if this would prevent my wrist from developing a rash. After about 1 week of wearing the flex band on my left wrist, my wrist also developed the rash.
