The product, in the report: [REDACTED] computer charging cord
This e-mail sums it up: I was charged $870.32 for this purchase. I expect the entire amount removed from my card immediately. My consumer rights have been violated on multiple issues. Per the Federal Consumer Bill of Rights I am entitled to be informed (full disclosure). I was not. I had no idea that this computer was manufactured in 2017. I was not informed that I would be sent a damaged power cord & that the charger was not the correct charger. The Consumer Bill of Rights also entitles me to safety & performance. When I went to unplug the charger it burnt my hand. I had to use a potholder to unplug it. Not only was I injured, this could have damaged or burnt down my house. All the above are also violations under the 1966 Fair Packaging & Labeling Act. I have told the 3rd party vendor & Walmart.com repeatedly (AT LEAST 5 TIMES) that I DO NOT HAVE A PRINTER & HAVE NO WAY OF SUPPLYING AN E-MAIL TO THE SHIPPER. I was texted a bar code by Walmart.com to return the item to the store but when the store attempted to do the return, the register printed a receipt stating that that they “cannot accept this return in Walmart stores.” This copy of my e-mail sums it all up: At this point I will be filing complaints with the State of FL Attorney General’s Office, The Better Business Bureau, The FDA & The Consumer Public Safety Commission. The vendor & Walmart.com has been playing games with me since 11/25/22 about returning this item. I even allowed the sender to send a new power cord. They sent the wrong cord. And now I have been on hold for over 35 minutes waiting to speak to someone that can address the incorrect refund amount. I am NOT paying for the Walmart.com protection plan for a computer that I am NOT GOING TO KEEP. I expect the entire amount of $870.32 to refunded immediately. Then when I did speak to someone regarding the difference, I was told I would be put on hold while they checked will billing. Then I was put back in the queue & then I was disconnected.
Report Update 1/4/23: Please find attached the pictures I took. I sent the computer & the charger back last week so I don’t have the details of the charger that burnt my hand. I have more pictures of the damaged cord if needed. The block is what burnt my hand as I needed to touch it to unplug it. I had to use a potholder to remove it from the surge protector charging strip.
