The product, in the report: USB Digital XD Reader/Writer for converting XD media cards.
Our office has purchased several Digital Concepts Converter Drives (USB), Model CR45TD-R, for conververting XD disk drives. If the USB converter is not removed from the computer immediately after use it begins to overheat and the plastic shell beigns to melt. This has happened at several different work stations in our office.
This morning the USB was left in for approximately thirty minutes and it begin to overheat. It was not noticed until office personnel noted a burnt oder.
This product was initially purchased from Radio Shack. I beleive more recent purchases were made through Amazon.
