The product, in the report: Connectland Desktop Microphone Model CL-SM-001 30 Hz to 16kHz
Our office purchased a Connectland Model CL-SM-001, serial number 01779 desktop microphone. It appears to have been over exposed to heat from the charring residue and melted cable. The product was still inside of its hard plastic wrap container with no signs of external heat being applied. The microphone was tested and found to be inoperable
I was unable to find any recall information on their website : www.connectland.eu
There is one product review on the Amazon website that reported the same condition.
We are wondering if the cable jacket is made of self-heating material since there were no signs of external heat being applied to the packaging, unless of course you consider the greenhouse effect from being inside of a car. This shouldn’t be enough heat to cause what happened, and it may put consumers at risk who purchased the product and did not discover this condition, only to have it occur out of the package in their homes.
