The product, in the report: AUKEY USB C Cable 90 Degree Right Angle [2-Pack 6.6ft] USB C to USB A Fast Charging Aramid Fiber Braided Nylon

The product, AUKEY USB C Cable 90 Degree Right Angle [2-Pack 6.6ft] USB C to USB A Fast Charging Aramid Fiber Braided Nylon, was lying on my desk. No device was plugged in to the USB C connector. The USB A connector was plugged into a surge protector with built in USB A jacks (5V/2.4A). The cable approximately 1/4 inch from the USB C connector began smoking and caught fire. The enter cable was very warm to the touch. I immediately unplugged the surge protector and the cable began cooling and the smoking stopped within a few seconds.
