The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

The product, in the report: Acer Aspire, unsure of series

Turned on my Acer Aspire laptop that I was given as an 18th birthday present in June 2009. Was running an update and laptop had been running for about 20 minutes. I left the room, walked back into the kitchen to see smoke pouring out from under the keyboard and flames out the back, and my kitchen curtains almost on fire! Unplugged and poured the washing up bowl over.

    Laptop now ruined.
