The product, in the report: 10 ft USB Cable (Airssup)
My 6 year old granddaughter plugged her iPad into a 10 ft Airssup USB Cord and then plugged an iHome portable charger to charge her iPad. Shortly after plugging the iHome portable charger the iHome charger started smoking and caught fire, Fortunately I was right there when she started yelling and I put the fire out. She was on an air mattress with cover and the cover caught fire. The USB end of the 10 ft cable smell of burnt material but the iHome portable charger smells very bad. Even now. Did not melt either because I unplugged both but it left a horrible smell in the house and on the iHome charger. My entire family was home when this happened and came running to find out what was burning just from the horrible smell. I can’t imagine what would have happened if I was not near because my granddaughter did not run she was still holding it on the bed. She apparently was frightened and did not even try to unplug it but was yelling to me. Fortunately, no person was burned or hurt, just the bedding on the air mattress that she play on.I was shocked that this happened. We have use both of these devices before. Several times. Don’t know what happened different.
