The product, in the report: Burts bees baby - face and hand cloths With aloe and vitamin E 30 pack
I used Burts bees baby face and hand clothes to wipe my babys hands and face. And of course that meant some got on her lips and also she puts her hands in her mouth. I realized at some point that honey is listed as an ingredient in these baby face and hand cloths. I was concerned because honey is dangerous for babies under 1 year old due to botulism. I called Burts bees medical and they told me the honey used was sterilized meaning heated to 175 degrees F. This may be sufficient to destroy the botulism toxin but it is not enough to destroy the spores. That requires at least 240 degrees Fahrenheit. And the spores are what makes the botulism risk. Therefore this product is being marketed as safe for babies to put on their face and hands when in fact it contains unsafe honey. I am now in fear for my 8 month old. I was using the products as they were supposed to be.
