The product, in the report: Clock radio

This product is an Emerson clock radio model # cks1708. On July 7, 2016, I noticed the radio was not functioning. The breaker on the surge protector had tripped and I was looking for the cause. I unplugged the clock radio and examined it. Approximately two inches from the A/C adaptor, the cord had melted for another two inches and left the copper wire totally exposed. I assume that earlier, when I moved the radio, the copper wires touched each other and that caused the surge protector to trip. I purchased the radio approximately three years ago.
