Hurt, no treatment Made Apr 21, 2018, sent to the company May 18, 2018, published by CPSC Jun 4, 2018
The product, in the report: Black phone that you cannot remove the battery if you have a disability with your hands. If the phone overheats, it is defeating the purpose of trying to remove a dangerous part. My face and ear is still burning from the phone. I have explained this several times to Assurance Wireless. Eventually, I was told that they tried to call me and I did not answer. I never received a call from anyone on 4/20/2018.
I am on the Cell Phone Lifeline Plan. I have was sent a ZTE N817 telephone. The phone overheats, the temperature has gotten over 147 degrees. It has burned my face and hands. If I need to use the phone I have to use a potholder and speak through the speaker. I have reported these issues to both QLink Wireless and Assurance Wireless and they insist on sending me out the same phone. Here’s the kicker, ZTE phones are made where you cannot remove the battery, you will need a chisel in order to open up the phone to remove the battery. I am disabled and I am unable to remove the battery. After I informed Assurance Wireless of the problems, they promised to call me back within 2 hours. They never did. I could understand one phone overheating and other problems, but not two. I have neighbors that have the unsafe ZTEN817 and they are experiencing the same problems. Here is the list of problems with this particular cellphone.
1) Overheating to the point it is burning my face and hands. I have to use a potholder or speak on a speaker phone. 2) You make a phone call and it rings 5 times and then you get a fast busy signal. 3) You are on the telephone talking to someone and it goes mute. 4) You cannot disconnect a call, you have to reboot the phone. 5) It disconnects a call and you cannot make a phone call unless you reboot the telephone 6) It deletes contacts 7) It makes random calls 8) It calls the previous call you made several times. Not butt dialing 9) If you make a call, you have to call that number several times before you can make the actual call. 10) If you make a call, it picks a random contact and immediately merges with a call 11) It would not allow me to make a 911 call. I had to dial 911 5 times before it took.

First aid Made Oct 23, 2014, sent to the company Oct 31, 2014, published by CPSC Nov 18, 2014
The product, in the report: android smart phone
I purchased a ZTE cell phone through Wal Mart service providor Straight Talk.
While on the phone yesterday, a football hit my hand holding the phone to my face so I could talk and the front glass shattered in small little shards sticking in my face and hand. Thank goodness not closer to my eyes.
It was my understanding these front plate glass panels are to made out of Gorilla Glass???? A glass that supposedly does not shatter.
Isn’t there some specifications for this....should be?
Notified the manufacturer of the phone and their email said they are not responsible for the manufacturing.
