The product, in the report: Panasonic cordless telephone, 10+ years old 5.8 GHz.
Approximately 10-year old cordless Panasonic phone exploded in my kitchen, destroying the item, taking out a piece of Formica counter top, and sending a piece of shrapnel through the opposite wall. I was not using it at the time (was not even in the room), and I had not done so that day. This explosion was NOT due to battery leakage, as the three-battery group was still intact. I collected up most of the pieces from the floor.
