The product, in the report: Driod 2 Global
Motorola Droid 2 Global Cell Phone
18Aug2012, Columbus OH
The cell phone in my front pocket suddenly overheated and started smoking. I quickly removed the phone from my pocket and dropped it on the carpet. I burnt my fingers trying to remove the battery. I kicked the phone to the kitchen floor to keep it from burning the carpet. The phone continued to smoke and melt until the battery was fully removed.
The cell phone was purchased directly from Verizon and was not modified in any way. The phone contained the original factory supplied battery and was only charged using the factory supplied recharging cord. The phone did not have a cover on it.
