The product, in the report: AmazonBasics Apple Certified Lightning to USB Cable - 3 Feet (0.9 Meters) - Black http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009SYZ8OC/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Purchased an Amazon Basics USB to Lightning Apple Certified cable (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009SYZ8OC/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) - the cable is overheating and melting both the insulated wire and the casing around the lighting port side.

My nine year old child went to charge the [REDACTED] and felt that the lighting port side was hot, unplugged the wire and brought it to me. He was thankfully not hurt, but this is at the least a fire hazard.
