  1. No one hurt

Made Jun 13, 2019, sent to the company Jul 3, 2019, published by CPSC Jul 18, 2019

The product, in the report: SoundPEATS Engine Bluetooth 5.0 Earbuds-Upgrade V2.0. This is a Neck band Bluetooth headset powered by Lithium Polymer battery.

The product in question were “SoundPEATS Engine Bluetooth Headphone, Wireless Neckband in-Ear Earbuds” - FCC ID: 2AFTU-Q34.

While wearing the headset, the left earphone developed quite a bit of static. A few minutes later the right battery compartment became incredibly hot. Additionally, the neck band coming out of the right battery compartment was painfully hot. Fearing a faulty battery and with known issues with lithium batteries rupturing, I immediately powered off the device. At which point the heat dissipated.
