No incident, no one hurt Made Jul 23, 2026, sent to the company Jul 27, 2026, published by CPSC Aug 10, 2026
The product, in the report: Product: SkullCandy Sesh ANC Model:S2TEW FCCID: Y22-S2TEW
At around 5am i was getting ready to go to bed, i walk into the room & a heavy smell of melted crayon, I sniff around & cant locate the smell I give up then spot my earbuds plugged in only to see a extremely melted & hot charging case & a melted & charred charging cord. They are not glued together.
My first action is unplugging it, then removing the extremely hot earbuds (not melted but really hot) from the case. Then took the entire thing outside & put on a metal table & covered with a pot (just incase of heavy dew/rain.)
Product: SkullCandy Sesh ANC Model:S2TEW FCCID: Y22-S2TEW Associated Products: [REDACTED] Good quality USB C cable in Like new condition (was my favorite cord & had been used with a single device for a year before being moved to a dedicated charging cable use with multiple devices over the course of 6 months. No longer term or frequent flexing or bending, just standard pluging. It was primarily used on the skullcandys once or twice a week max sense the skullcandys were delivered 12/08/25. )
This is apparently a common problem with the SkullCandy anc when I [REDACTED] skullcandy buds melting & needs to be investigated as if i had not seen it the house would have caught fire.

Seen by a doctor or nurse Made Apr 15, 2026, sent to the company Apr 17, 2026, published by CPSC May 1, 2026
The product, in the report: Skullcandy Push Active True Wireless Earbuds in black and orange.
Skullcandy Push Active True Wireless Earbuds. After a few days / hours of using these Skullcandy earbuds, I developed a persistent skin irritation in my outer ear, and later also in the bend of my ear where the earbud anchor wraps around the exterior of the ear. I am on medication now to heal this, and it is taking a long time. There is no way to contact Skullcandy to inform them of this problem, to ask them what irritating materials they might be made of, for them to monitor product safety or do anything about it. They require customer contact through a chat bot that offers nothing but automated “empathic” response, eg, “I can understand how frustrating it is...” etc.

Hurt, no treatment Made Mar 21, 2019, sent to the company Mar 28, 2019, published by CPSC Apr 11, 2019
The product, in the report: Skullcandy Sport Method Wireless (Blue/Gray) Approx: 5 in. long, 4 in. wide; U-shape
I was charging my wireless Skullcandy Sport headphones with a standard micro USB charger, when I noticed a faint electrical burning smell. At first I didn’t know where it was coming from. After about 30 minutes, I went to unplug it and felt that charging port of headphones and the charger tip itself was very hot, enough for the battery pack of the headphones to start melting. For the few seconds it was in my hands, I sustained a small burn to my middle finger. I was able to unplug it and let it cool down.

No one hurt Made Mar 23, 2018, sent to the company Jun 22, 2018, published by CPSC Jul 16, 2018
The product, in the report: Skullcandy Uproar Wireless Bluetooth Headphones with Onboard Microphone/Remote
I received the Skullcandy Uproar Wireless Bluetooth Headphones with Onboard Microphone/Remote headphones from my son and his wife for Christmas and have enjoyed them until now. I know my daughter in-law purchased them from Wal-Mart. I was in my basement to change laundry and smelled something very hot, like burning, so I started to search and unplug things and when I got to the headphone that was it. You can see the rubber stuck to my thumb and burnt the tip, but more important our house could have burnt down.

Emergency room Made Oct 11, 2011, sent to the company Nov 10, 2011, published by CPSC Dec 5, 2011
The product, in the report: Headphones (over ear design) -- for use with MP3 player
I purchased a set of headphones for use with my MP3 player. Headphones did not work well. On Friday 07/01/2011the rubber from the right ear bud came off the headphones and became lodged against the eardrum in my ear. As a direct result of this product being stuck in my ear canal, I had to immediately go to the Emergency Room because I was in much pain from the rubber piece pushing against my eardrum and my hearing was down. This led to the Emergency Room having to remove the lodged rubber piece. Moreover, this also resulted in subsequent visits to an Urgent Care facility, the use of prescriptions, and a subsequent visit to an Ear, Nose & Throat specialist. Not only was this a painful and time-consuming experience, but it was also costly for me to provide the medical care necessary to remove the rubber ear piece and to fix the injuries suffered that were caused by the rubber ear piece coming off headphones and being lodged in my ear canal. Product was used properly and nothing else caused the rubber shell of the right ear bud to become lodged in my right ear canal. Please investigate my complaint. Anything you can do to help me to get reimbursed for my medical costs would be greatly appreciated.
