Hurt, no treatment Made Feb 5, 2023, sent to the company Feb 10, 2023, published by CPSC Feb 27, 2023
The product, in the report: Galaxy Buds Pro blue tooth earbuds. These are described in promotional material as “ immersive buds [that] deliver powerful studio sound and crystal-clear call quality. [They] Use Intelligent Active Noise Cancellation to escape into your music at a moment’s notice. Answer calls with just your voice and let in the sounds that matter more with adjustable ambient sound.” The buds are smaller than a similar [REDACTED] earbud. I don’t experience this problem with [REDACTED] earbuds.
I purchased Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro for ear buds to use with my phone. I am the only person who uses this product in my household. I used them in the manner prescribed in the instructions, inserting into my ear with the correct size ear pad. There were three sizes, S, M, L. The L was too big and the S too small, so I used the M. A few hours after wearing, my ears were very itchy and runny and I suspected an ear infection. I followed instructions to clean the ear buds (i bought them new so I did not clean the first time). Again, my ears itched and were very runny and crusty for a week after using. Most recently I gave them another try. After wearing for 45 minutes, a few hours later again my ears itched incessantly and my ears were runny and crusty, and also painful. I searched on-line and also the Samsung support site and found this is a very common problem with this product.

Seen by a doctor or nurse Made Sep 27, 2022, sent to the company Sep 30, 2022, published by CPSC Oct 17, 2022
The product, in the report: Samsung Galaxy Buds2 Pro, Graphite Bluetooth enabled earbuds.
The use of bluetooth enabled ear-buds manufactured by Samsung results in ear irritation, ear infection, hole in the ear drum and partial deafness. I have noticed that using the Galaxy Buds2 Pro Earbuds (FCC IDs: A3LSMR510L, A3LSMR510R) results in serious issues to my ear. As a result of using these improperly manufactured earbuds, I had to visit the urgent care to seek treatment for an ear infection and a hole in my ear drum. Please note, that I have used these earbuds for limited durations - 70% of my usage is less than 60 minutes and only 30% of my usage reaches periods of 90 minutes or so.
These ear buds manufactured by Samsung pose a grave danger to the American public and the product must be recalled.

No one hurt Made Aug 8, 2022, sent to the company Aug 11, 2022, published by CPSC Aug 25, 2022
The product, in the report: Samsung HW-K950 (Serial Number: 0CA514MJ300160J) 5.1.4 Channel High Fidelity Sound Bar System. It consist of a sound bar that is roughly 48 inches long x 3 inches high x 4 inches deep. It came with a large wireless sub woofer and two wireless surround speakers. It was a high-fidelity, Atmos Surround System. I also had Purchased a 4-Year Product Protection Plan, that was supposed to add 4 years of additional protection to the 1-year protection from Samsung. Both Samsung & Best Buy Magnolia Centers Refused to honor. Unit was purchased 11-25-17. Unit caught fire on 07-17-22.
I purchased a Samsung Home Theatre Sound Bar System (Model # HWK-950) and had it installed in my home. I noticed a smell of something burning, and after pulling the Soundbar off the wall mount, found where the unit had begun to burn through its plastic housing on the bottom. The product was working when this happened, and if I had not unplugged it, it would have caught my home on fire, and possibly killed my family in the process. I contacted Samsung about malfunctioning unit, and they refused to even examine the unit. I should think they would have at least wanted to have their engineers examine the unit to be sure it does not happen to someone else. If other units have the same problem, it would destroy homes and lives. Samsung refused to look at the unit because it was out of their Warranty Period. The Place that sold me the unit, Best Buy Magnolia Center (MDC #0403 / BBY #503) Located at [REDACTED]; also refused to examine the unit or provide help with replacement or repair. My warranty ran out 6 months ago. The issue is even if the warranty is out, it is not supposed to catch fire and burn down my house. Samsung at first offered to have a technician look at it, then changed their minds and refused any further communications. The Samsung Reference number is [REDACTED]. The original purchase invoice from Best Buy Magnolia Center was Invoice number [REDACTED]. I sent Samsung pictures of the damaged unit and a copy of the original purchase invoice where I paid $1,349.00. If more of these units malfunction, somebody could be killed.

The product, in the report: Samsung - Galaxy Buds Pro True Wireless Earbud Headphones - Phantom Violet Model:SM-R190NZVAXARSKU:6443997
I am a longtime Samsung product user. I have used their Galaxy line for years. I own their phones, smart watches, and earbuds, and I upgrade regularly when new devices become available. I have been using the [REDACTED] for almost two years and am very happy with them. For Christmas this year, I asked my husband for the superior Samsung Pro buds. I wore them for about three weeks with giddy happiness until my right ear became infected with an achy sore inside my outer ear underneath the concha, right above my tragus. I’ve never had this happen before with any earbud ever, and I’ve used many many different brands in my life so I immediately looked it up after I noticed putting in these Samsung earbuds aggravated the spot. I came across so many instances of the Pro earbuds causing terrible infections in ears that mine seemed lucky not to have caused worse. The trouble seems to be caused by the use of nickel and people being allergic to nickel which I definitely am. I can’t use anything in my pierced ears except titanium or sterling silver. Samsung needs to recall these Pro earbuds and re-assess them. No other buds of theirs have caused this problem while the Pro are the most expensive and supposedly “best” earbud they have. I stopped using them for one week until my right ear healed and tried them again. The same injury again occurred. I have now stopped using them altogether and what a shame.

The product, in the report: Samsung Galaxy Pro (11A6) Black Earbuds
I have noticed that every time I wear my Samsung Galaxy Pro earbuds my inner ears start itching, I experience a wet clear liquid in my ears and within 24 hours I have crusty scabs in my ears. The wetness and itching wake me from sleep and the crustiness reduces my ear openings so I have difficulty hearing. I wear the earbuds 30 - 60 minutes per week for one business phone call. The symptoms begin soon after the call ends and clear up in 3 - 4 days after the earbud use ends. I noticed online that many users of this model earbud have reported the same symptoms with this model earbuds.

The product, in the report: Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro - in lavender Model sm-r190
after wearing my new Samsung Buds pro for a week straight, my ears were Itchy, watery, puss, and scabbing. I dealt with it for awhile and just thought i got an infection from swimming. Went to the doctor, and was told i had an outer ear infection. Prescribed ear drops and antibiotic and told no head phones for 2 weeks. I took the meds and did the drops, then waited the 2 weeks. My ears competely healed, doctor gave me the ok to wear my buds again. I cleaned the buds with hospital grade hand sanitizer and alcohol wipes. I then wore the right bud only for all of maybe 30 minutes yesterday on my way into work. About 3 hours into my shift, my right ear began to itch. I cleaned my ears with alcohol wipes and cleaned the bud again. After my 12 hour shift, i wore the bud again on my walk to my car (maybe 10 minutes). Went home and slept. I woke up with my ear crusted over, oozing pus yet again. Now (about 24 hours after 1st time wearing again after 2 weeks of no use) my ear is back to being itchy, drainig puss and hurting. Going to the ED AGAIN after i get off shift. After spending almost 200 on ear buds im very unhappy

I had an allergic reaction in my outer ear canal in both ears to the rubber tips of the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro earbuds. The product was placed in the ear as instructed. My ears became inflamed with a non-odorous discharge. Both ears were itchy with patches of dry skin in the canal. I experienced difficulty hearing as sounds seemed muffled with some pressure in the ears and accompanied by a ringing again in both ears.

The product, in the report: Samsung Level U Bluetooth Headset
I noticed an irritated area on the side/rear of my neck on the left side. I wasn’t sure what it was but it did not cross my mind that it was my Samsung Level U bluetooth headset. I put my bluetooth around my neck and went about my day as I normally do. Later that evening as I was preparing to take off my headset, I noticed that the area was worse and that it seemed to get larger. It resembled a burn and it hurt and itched. My husband asked me what did I burn myself with and I replied that I had not burned myself with anything. Again, it did not cross my mind at the time it was my headset. I took it off, took my shower, put [REDACTED] ointment on the area and went to bed. The next day I did what I normally do, put on my headset and go about my day. That is when I noticed that it got worse every time I put the headset around my neck. I immediately stopped using the headset and went to the doctor. I was diagnosed with a burn on the neck and prescribed a cream for burns. I immediately called Samsung on 10-13-16 and filed a complaint. They emailed me except they kept calling me by another customer’s name. I told them who I was and they said I had to call back and re-file the complaint. After doing so, they asked me to send them medical documentation and a receipt. I sent the medical documentation and explained that I no longer had the receipt because I made the purchase several months ago from Sam’s Club. About a day later, a lady from Samsung left a message on my voice mail saying that my claim is dismissed because I was not using a Samsung phone. FYI, they advertise the Level U headsets as compatible with android devices, not exclusively Samsung phones. Also, I haven’t used the headset since and my neck finally healed only after I stopped using the headset.

The product, in the report: Wireless Active Subwoofer that pairs with a soundbar. Samsung PS-WWS1
Yesterday a Samsung subwoofer in my home began squealing, smoking and caught fire as I tried to identify the source of the smoke and sound. A call to Samsung left me with no faith that any investigation into the matter would be taken. I am very concerned for others who have this type of system in their home.
The model number for the Subwoofer is PS-WWS1 and it pairs with a soundbar.
