The product, in the report: Rotel A14 MKII stereo integrated amplifier, black in color, 80watts per channel into 8ohm speaker load.
I ordered a stereo amplifier from an online store in italy; I had pre-sales email discussions with store representative [REDACTED]; said representative knew I was ordering from california, usa; on 4-december-2024 I received the amplifier and immediately discovered that the model was a European Union model requiring 240v, not the 120v standard in the usa; I immediately contacted the store representative I had communicated with before, and indicated that I need to return the unit; the representative ignored me, so I filed a complaint with [REDACTED]; representative then contacted me and suggested I use a 120v-to-240v step-up transformer; when I returned from an overseas trip; I purchased a 120v-to-240v step-up transformer from a reputable hardware supplier ([REDACTED]); i tested the unit using this transformer, and immediately noticed that there was voltage present on the front panel, which requires touching to operate the unit; using a multimeter, i measured 144v from the front panel to ground (ground being a cold water pipe); I complained to the store representative about this, and I was ignored once again;
