While using Bose Quiet Comfort Sport Earbuds (https://www.bose.com/c/earbuds), I experienced severe, bilateral, contact dermatitis. This was severe enough that it caused skin cracking and bleeding. I was able to resolve this with time (weeks) and totally heal. Then as a test, I used the earbuds for 1 hour and got a repeat contact dermatitis. While contact dermatitis is uncomfortable and painful, broken and bleeding skin is a potential source of severe infection. Searching online, this does not appear to be a rare event. The company claims no knowledge of this problem. case of contact dermatitis in both ears.
