The reports, as CPSC published them

Reports people made to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. CPSC publishes each one after sending it to the company named, and doesn’t guarantee they’re accurate. A report isn’t a recall.

Each report is the words of the person who made it, as CPSC published them. The company’s comments, where CPSC published any, are set apart as the company’s own.

  1. Hurt, no treatment

Made Mar 5, 2023, sent to the company Mar 8, 2023, published by CPSC Mar 22, 2023

The product, in the report: It’s a red boombox that comes in an orange box. It’s from the “Onn” brand which I’ve only seen at Walmart. Link to it on their website: [REDACTED]

I bought a boombox at Walmart. The brand name is “Onn” and the product line is “Groove.” The user interface requires you to be pretty close to start using it (8-12 in). I turned it on for the first time, and it was set to the MAX VOLUME! My ears have been ringing for about an hour now. If I wasn’t as fast as I was to find the volume buttons it would have been worse.

The product, in the report: ONN BLUETOOTH IN-EAR HEADPHONES (WHITE)

Purchased White ONN Bluetooth in-ear headphones from Walmart [REDACTED] on 3/16/20. I plugged them in on 3/15/20 to charge as usual. I left them charging for approx 2 -3 hours. When I unplugged them I noticed they were unusually hot. At that time I didn’t inspect them, I just left them to lay on my nightstand. That evening when I got in bed, I tried to connect them to my phone by pressing the power button. I was having a difficult time doing so, so I turned on my lamp for more light and saw how melted they were.
