Product: MEElectronics M6-CL-MEE Sport Noise-Isolating In-Ear Headphones with Memory Wire (Clear) (Electronics)
Purchased from Amazon.com
These noise-isolating, ear bud-type headphones come with 6 different ear buds which can be tried by consumer for appropriate personal fit. After reading the (extremely brief) manual, watching an instructional video on fitting on mfr.’s website, reading additional fitting instructions on mfr.’s website, I proceeded to test the different included ear buds for best fit. One of the included ear bud sets (smaller of the triple flared variety) came off inside my ear canal and had to be removed with narrow tweezers by my spouse. After the bud was removed, I tested re-attaching it to the headphone earpiece, confirming it was properly placed (according to mfr.’s instructions), however, this set of ear buds readily/easily slipped off the earpiece each time.
Fortunately I had someone who could help me remove the faulty ear bud. If I was alone, I would have gone to an urgent care facility.
As a public health epidemiologist and health care worker, I see the situation I experienced with these headphones as a public health risk.
