On Monday, April 10, 2017, I received a call from my adult son that my daughter’s bedroom was filled with smoke. I rushed home and he was correct. It smelled electrical. We could not find the cause of the smoke and called the fire department. The fire department determined that my daughter’s Jam Box was on her bed and had melted down into the comforter and almost to the mattress. The speaker was not plugged in or on. Her bedspread had been tossed over it by accident before she left for school. The radio had spontaneously began to melt down and cause a fire without being in use. Thank God my son was home to catch the start of what could have been a very serious fire in our home!
