My name is [REDACTED]. I purchased a TV stand that is advertised on walmart.com as: Black Wood TV Stand with Media Storage and Mount, for TVs up to 65”. (walmart number 007129694)

I fully assembled the stand and nearly took four hours doing so. When I was pushing the stand back I noticed the following notice pasted to the back of the unit:
CAUTION: This stand is intended for use with a product that has dimensions that will permit it to sit evenly on this stand.
It further states
“This stand is intended for up to a 60” flat panel tv”
I brought this stand because it is advertised as being able to hold (presumably safely) a 65” tv, as I have a 65” flat-panel [REDACTED] that I recently purchase.
I am concerned that it will topple over as it is 5” over the dimensions that the product is listed as being able to hold safely. I am particularly concerned because I have 3 children under the age of 6 and am concerned for their safety.
When I called Walmart they explained that the “manufacturer” of the product was responsible and that they are not responsible for the advertising on their website. I also note that a “brown” version of the product is advertised similarly on walmart.com
I request that someone check into why this product is advertised on Walmart.com as it is. I also request that walmart contact all persons who have purchased the product to inform them that the product is not to be used with flat-panel TV’s greater than 60”. I also request that an investigation is conducted to understand if people have been injured with use of this product as advertised.
