The product, in the report: Custom TV rail system cover with motor and gears and a wooden cover panel.
As an IT Tech, I reported to one of our clients’ residences to troubleshoot the Internet and TV. The home is a smart home using [REDACTED] Video Technology. The TV is covered by a retractable rail system covered with a wood panel facade. I removed the TV from the wall mount to check for HDMI connection inputs. After i replaced the TV. I used the [REDACTED] remote controller to test the [REDACTED] option. At that moment, the rail system with gears began to close the TV space. The TV was tilted and protruding outward, so the rail system began to crush the side of the TV. I immediately placed my right hand on the wood cover panel with as much force as I could to prevent the cover from continuing to crush the TV and me. At that moment, the Wood Panel came of the rail system hinges. Without the Wood Cover, the rail system skeleton cover was able to close without impacting the TV. However, with my right arm, the wooden panel cover was hanging, and I had to use above normal strength as I stepped down carefully and used both arms to place the wooden cover panel to stand vertically against the wall. Because this rail system TV cover with gears did not have safety sensors to retract upon triggering when encountering an obstruction, nor did it stop when applying reasonable force against getting crushed, I will request the builder igrace.com in the Los Angeles, CA area to cover the damages the owner claims I caused, scratched furniture and art. Because it is foreseeable that checking the back HDMI cables and Ethernet cables, in the back of the TV, requires dismounting, and testing the [REDACTED] on the [REDACTED] controller is also foreseeable, any retractable rail system TV cover with gears and no obstruction sensors or the force to stop it manually using slight force is considered a dangerous design, and should require adequate notice, safety sensor, and ability to manually stop light force.
