First aid Made Sep 6, 2026, sent to the company Sep 14, 2026, published by CPSC Sep 28, 2026
The product, in the report: White Samsung Moving Style Stand model LS-MTS1S43WHT with swivel mount for landscape and portrait orientation used with white Samsung 43 Inch Movingstyle Smart Monitor model LS43FM70YUNXZA
I assembled a Samsung 43” TV (Product ID: LS43FM70YUNXZA) with a Samsung Moving Stand (Product ID: LS-MTS1S43WHT) according to the provided installation instructions. The stand height was secured, and the locking mechanism that attaches the TV to the stand was placed in the designated locked position and checked multiple times. The instructions do not identify any additional step required to secure this locking mechanism or prevent it from disengaging during normal swiveling. While swiveling the TV from landscape to portrait orientation, the locking mechanism disengaged from the locked position, causing the TV to release from the stand and fall to the floor. I attempted to catch the TV before it hit the floor and sustained a scratch to my finger that removed skin. The TV was damaged in the fall and is no longer usable. I am reporting this because the locking mechanism disengaged during normal intended use despite being placed in the locked position according to the instructions.
This version is appropriate for CPSC because it clearly captures the product, what failed, how it was being used, the resulting injury, and the property damage without adding conclusions we cannot independently establish.

No one hurt Made Jul 15, 2020, sent to the company Jul 31, 2020, published by CPSC Aug 14, 2020
The product, in the report: Factory stand for Samsung 55” Television has failed Model UN55JS7000FXZA
The factory-supplied TV stand for our Samsung TV, model UN55JS7000FXZA, is warped and therefore very wobbly, unstable and unsafe. We first noticed this on June 24, 2020.
We e-chatted with a Samsung customer representative on June 28th, 2020, and explained the faulty stand. Their response was that this model TV was made in 2015, the one-year warranty has expired, and that we would have to purchase a replacement stand (for $57) on a separate web site.
Since the stand is unsafe to use, we didn’t feel that their response was fair. We expected a free replacement stand from Samsung. On July 1, 2020 we emailed Samsung executive [REDACTED] with our stance. In the email we compared our Samsung TV stand to [REDACTED] dressers that have toppled and hurt children.
After one week of no response to our email, we forwarded the original email on July 8, 2020 and marked it “2nd request.” In a couple of days we received a voice mail on our home phone with a message to call the [REDACTED] of Samsung. When we returned the call on the same day, the representative ([REDACTED]) informed us that we would NOT be getting a free stand. Her phone is [REDACTED]. We told [REDACTED] we would have to go farther.

Hurt, no treatment Made May 17, 2018, sent to the company May 25, 2018, published by CPSC Jun 11, 2018
The product, in the report: Samsung 40 inch TV base, although same base is used for several models. Samsung no longer manufactures tempered glass bases yet ones in existence should be recalled
Samsung TV manufactured in 2009 include TV stands made of tempered glass that can shatter. A person could lose an eye if in front of TV when it spontaneously explodes. I was in back bedroom when I heard what sounded like a bunch of screws spilling on a tile floor. I went to the TV room and found the TV off, the base shattered into small pieces, shards, and the tiniest of pieces strewn across 25 feet of space into my kitchen. I googled “Samsung exploding TV base” and came up with at least 2 incidents on youtube of exactly what happened in my situation There should have been and should be a recall. If a child were in front of the TV when this happened, an eye could have been seriously damaged if the glass went into the eye. As it was I got small cuts on my hands in cleaning up the glass, and was finding small pieces over several days and got additional cuts on my feet. http://www.rightthisminute.com/video/exploding-samsung-tvs

No one hurt Made Dec 15, 2016, sent to the company Dec 23, 2016, published by CPSC Jan 10, 2017
The product, in the report: Samsung Ultra Slim Wall Mount
TV wall mount failed without warning, dropping 77-pound TV to floor.
Samsung Ultra Slim Wall-Mount model WMN1000C, purchased in 2011. The steel cable pulled out of its plastic anchor on the TV set. I have photos and the original wall mount packaging.
Similar failures are easy to find on Amazon customer reviews, and a class-action law suit is forming in California.
I suspect the plastic anchor weakened with time and heat from TV; probably wrong to combine steel and plastic to begin with.
The 3-year warranty has expired, but no product should fail in this way. If a child has been lying under the TV...?

No one hurt Made Feb 25, 2016, sent to the company Jul 22, 2016, published by CPSC Aug 9, 2016
The product, in the report: Wall mount for televisions up to 65 inches
This caller is reporting his wall mount used for his 63 inch flat screen television, both wall mount and television were purchased June 1st, 2010 from .com. The caller noticed no problems with the wall mount for his television until February 24th, 2016 when he and his wife were in their bedroom watching the television when it came crashing down and they saw that it was due to the wall mount’s two circular discs that were supposed to support the television broke.
The direction/guidance for the wall mount reads that it is guaranteed to support televisions up to 65 inches and the caller’s television is 63 inches.
There are no injuries being reported
The caller contacted the manufacturer February 25th, 2016 and spoke with [REDACTED] who advised him that there are no recalls and no warranty which provides the consumer calling no assistance from them.
This caller is a pediatrician and states that he is contacting CPSC because this television fell with great force in a split second and if this incident were to be repeated where a child was nearby then the results could be disastrous.
He would like this wall mount recalled with remedy being refund and he would like for the manufacturer to be held financially responsible for his television and the wall mount. I referred the caller to the FTC and the CFPB for this request.

The product, in the report: Glass swivel base Tv stand that is attached to the television.
I own A Samsung 40” LED television, on Friday evening 16-08-2013 the glass base stand that is attached to the TV exploded for no apparent reason, sending both small and large pieces of glass flying all over our lounge. This was accompanied by a very load bang. Fortunately no one was injured, our 6 month old grand daughter had gone home after visiting us. For a family with small children the possibilities of injury do not bear thinking about. I have sent Samsung customer services an E mail , but as yet I have not had a reply. A friend has told me that A lady has posted a video on U tube showing exactly the same incident, hence I guess Samsung know about this problem
