    The product, in the report: Harlowe 56in Brown 3-In-1 TV Stand - Size: 56in Dimensions: 56in W x 21in D x 55.7in H

PRODUCT SAFETY HAZARD: Spontaneous Explosion of Harlowe 3-in-1 TV Stand

This concerns a Harlowe 56-inch 3-in-1 TV Stand purchased September, 2021 at Costco. Yesterday, without any impact, stress, or temperature change, the top tempered glass shelf spontaneously exploded into thousands of sharp pieces, showering the surrounding area with glass shards.

Fortunately, no one was standing near the unit at the time, and no injuries occurred, but the violent manner in which the glass shattered created an immediate hazard. The stand was used entirely within standard parameters (the TV legs rested securely on the wooden frame edges, not directly on the glass) and the unit sat undisturbed against an interior wall.

Research indicates this is a known, recurring defect with this particular piece of furniture and has been previously documented in verified reviews online. Other spontaneous explosions of tempered glass furniture are also well-documented.

Note: Costco stood by their warranty and refund policies 100% and gave an immediate refund when notified about this issue.
